The clinic tried to provide both abortions and other types of procedures, but physicians and patients refused to cross the crowds of protestors who frequently gathered outside the facility. The new clinic, set to open as the New York Center for Specialty Surgery, is undergoing renovations.
As many as 20 physicians have expressed interest in working at the new clinic.
