Pittsburgh-based Allegheny Health Network opened a full-service outpatient center in an Aspinwall, Pa.-based shopping plaza to compete with UPMC St. Margaret, the TRIB Live reports.

Here's what you should know:

1. Hospital administration said the outpatient center fills a primary care gap in the area.

2. The center will offer orthopedic, cardiology, advanced diagnostic, obstetrics and gynecological services.

3. The facility cost Allegheny about $8 million.

4. The investment is among the $1 billion Allegheny spent over the last 18 months to expand its footprint in Western Pennsylvania.
