Alabama's Gardendale Surgery Center Plans to Double Patient Capacity

Gardendale (Ala.) Surgical Associates plans to double its patient capacity in as few as 60 days by adding two operating rooms and a procedure room to its surgery center, according to a North Jefferson News report.

GSA provides outpatient surgery such as colonoscopies, endoscopies, pain blocks, cataracts, orthopedic, gynecological, colorectal and general surgery procedures, according to Lee Stubbs, clinical director of the practice.

According to the report, GSA served 1,600 patients in the last year. Mr. Stubbs said the practice would love to perform 400 cases a month eventually. The additional rooms have already been constructed but were previously used as storage.
