9 joint venture ASCs in January/ February

The healthcare industry is increasingly filled with different partnerships and an uptick in joint ventures in the ASC landscape.

Here are nine joint ventures on surgery centers that ensued over the last couple months, beginning with the most recent.

OrthoSports Athens (Ala.) and Athens-Limestone Hospital started construction on a new facility featuring an ASC and medical office building.

New York City-based Hospital for Specialty Surgery and Stamford (Conn.) Health are partnering to open at ASC at Stamford-based Tully Health Center.

Webster, Texas-based Bay Area Regional Medical Center is developing an ASC on medical real estate development company Houston-based Medistar's Gemini Medical Campus in Houston.

MidMichigan Health, local physicians and Regent Surgical Health opened a multispecialty ASC in Isabella County, Mich.

SurgCenter of Lucie (Fla.) opened its doors after partnering with Pismo Beach, Calif.-based SurgCenter Development.

Jamison, Pa.-based Physicians Endoscopy is partnering with St. Mary Medical Center, the Gastroenterology Group PA and Center for Colon and Rectal Health physicians, all based in Langhorne, Pa., to acquire a minority interest in Langhorne-based The Endoscopy Center at St. Mary.

Elgin, Ill.-based Advocate Sherman Hospital, 13 physician investors and Deerfield, Ill.-based Surgical Care Affiliates received Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board approval to build a $12.7 million ASC.

Ortho Montana, St. Vincent Healthcare and Yellowstone Surgery Center, all based in Billings, Va., are expanding their services through Montana Ambulatory Care Campus in Billings. Montana Ambulatory Care Campus providers performed its first procedure early in January 2017.

Frontier Healthcare Holdings and Liberty Endoscopy Center partnered to open a gastroenterology-facing ASC in New York, where the two companies are located.
