9 hospitals, health systems opening or planning ASCs — November 2017

Here are nine hospitals and health systems that have opened or announced plans for ASCs in November.

Fort Myers, Fla.-based Lee Health bought land in Estero, Fla., for a possible expansion including an ASC.

Schenectady, N.Y.-based Ellis Hospital submitted a proposal to the New York Public Health and Health Planning Council seeking board approval for the $13.64 million Ellis Ambulatory Surgery Center in Clifton Park, N.Y.

York, Pa.-based WellSpan Health initiated construction on its 80,000-square-foot health center with an ASC in Penn Township, Pa.

Hartford, Conn.-based Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center plans to open an orthopedic surgery center in Hartford.

The partnership between two physicians and Greenport, N.Y.-based Eastern Long Island Hospital gained approval from the New York State Department of Health to construct a new surgery center.

Renton, Wash.-based Providence Health & Services is negotiating with Roseville, Calif.-based Adventist Health to purchase Walla Walla (Wash.) General Hospital. Providence Health intends to build an ASC at the location.

Hartford (Conn.) HealthCare and Avon, Conn.-based Constitution Surgery Alliance opened the Constitution Surgery Center East in Waterford, Conn.

Buffalo, N.Y.-based Catholic Health received the first required approval to acquire a 40 percent stake in Orchard Park, N.Y.-based Sterling Surgical Center.

Fort Myers, Fla.-based Lee Health is keeping pace with plans to open its $140 million health and wellness village, Lee Health Coconut Point, in July 2018. It'll feature an ASC.
