6 new joint venture ASCs — September & October 2015

Here are six new joint venture ASCs announced or opened in the past two months.

The freestanding, joint venture Empire State Ambulatory Surgery Center in Bronx, N.Y., opened. The ASC is a joint venture between New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai, Ambulatory Surgical Centers of America and 15 physicians.

Georgia Regents Medical Center in Augusta has bought a 30 percent stake in Surgery Center of Columbia in Evans, Ga. The surgery center is owned by University Health Resources, an affiliate of Augusta, Ga.-based University Health Care System. A number of physicians also have ownership in the center.

Regent Surgical Health partnering with the Surgery Center of Wasilla in Alaska to serve patients in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley near Anchorage.

MetroHealth is partnering with Big Creek Surgery Center to expand its presence in Middleburg Heights, Ohio.

SurgCenter Development and the Orthopaedic Associates of Zanesville (Ohio) have broken ground on a new, $1.1 million surgery center.

Alliance HealthCare Services entered into a joint venture partnership with PRC Associates, an interventional pain management services provider in Florida.
