6 Hospitals & Health Systems Planning or Opening Ambulatory Surgery Centers

Here are six hospitals and health systems that announced plans to build or open an ambulatory surgery center.

McLaren Bay Region in Bay City, Mich., purchased nine acres of land, which will serve as the site of a new facility housing an ambulatory surgery center.

OhioHealth MedCentral Mansfield Hospital began construction on a new surgery center and medical office building, which is expected to reach completion in 2015.

Palisades Medical Center in North Bergen, N.J., began construction on a 57,000-square-foot ambulatory care center, which will offer endoscopy, gastroenterology, orthopedics and cardiology services.

This month, Providence Health Care plans to open its new outpatient surgery center and medical clinic in Spokane Valley, Wash.

As part of a $172 million renovation project, St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Ill., will open a new surgery center in June.

University of Minnesota Health broke ground on a $160.5 million outpatient facility in Minneapolis. The facility will include an outpatient surgery center and various clinics.
