5 Recent Surgery Center Acquisitions

Here are five recent ambulatory surgery center acquisitions.

Aurora Health Care has acquired Manitowoc (Wis.) Surgery Center. The acquisition will expand Aurora's outpatient surgery services. Both Aurora and BayCare Clinic physicians will use the facility.

Campbell Clinic Orthopaedics has acquired Midtown Surgery Center in Memphis, Tenn. Campbell Clinic has locations in Germantown, Memphis and Collierville, Tenn., and a Southaven, Miss., location.

Castleview Hospital in Utah has acquired Eastern Utah Surgical Center. The surgery center will be renamed the Castleview Hospital Surgery Center. The six surgeons associated with the center will join the hospital's medical staff.

HCA Midwest Health System has acquired a 51 percent ownership stake in Heart of America Surgery Center in Kansas City, Kan. The health system purchased the majority stake from Kansas City Specialty Physicians.

Northwest Community Healthcare is seeking approval from the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board to sell a minority ownership stake in its Northwest Community Same Day Surgery Center in Arlington Heights. If the transaction is approved, a group of physicians will acquire a 49 percent ownership stake.
