4 Pennsylvania health systems adopt value-based care model through partnership — 4 insights

Butler (Pa.) Health System, Greensburg, Pa.-based Excela Health System, Mt. Lebanon, Pa.-based St. Clair Hospital and Morrisville, Pa.-based Washington Health System partnered to initiate a value-based care model, Allied News reports.

1. The organizations are calling their new initiative Bridges Health Partners.

2. Through the partnership the systems will align their inpatient, ambulatory, at-home and nursing care offerings to ensure high-quality, patient-focused care through their networks.

3. The health systems will share analytical data across their inpatient and ambulatory networks to ensure positive patient outcomes.

4. Bridges Health Partners Interim Medical Director Elliot Smith, MD, said to Allied News, "The network of independent practices, affiliates and health systems participating in this important work extends across the Pittsburgh market. The positive impact from this physician-led collaboration will benefit patients, employers and payers in communities throughout Western Pennsylvania and the Tri-state area."
