As ASCs and outpatient care shift towards the center of organizational growth strategies, joint ventures and partnerships between hospitals, health systems, ASCs, physicians and management groups are becoming more common.
Here are three outpatient joint ventures or partnerships shaping the industry, as reported by Becker’s:
1. SCA Health, Englewood Health and physician partners have cut the ribbon on Precision Surgery Center of Englewood Cliffs (N.J.). Services provided at the center include gastroenterology, ophthalmology, orthopedic surgery, total joint replacement, otolaryngology, podiatry and pain management. The facility is the first newly developed ASC built by Englewood Health.
2. New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery has entered into a strategic joint venture with Lumexa Imaging, a provider of outpatient imaging services.
3. Miami-based Florida International University and Coral Gables-based Baptist Health South Florida broke ground on a seven-story outpatient academic medical center that will include same-day surgery services. The project expands a partnership announced in 2023 between FIU and Baptist Health South Florida. The organizations currently collaborate on 14 graduate medical education programs, including residencies and fellowships. The partnership plans to expand to more than 350 residents and fellows over the next five years, with a focus on specialties facing physician shortages.
