10 hospitals, health systems opening or planning ASCs

Here are 10 hospitals and health systems that opened or announced plans for ASCs in August:

Novant Health opened Center City Outpatient Surgery Center and welcomed the facility's first patients Aug. 27. Both are based in Charlotte, N.C.

Medford, Mass.-based MelroseWakefield Healthcare outlined plans to build a $16 million ASC on the campus of its North Medford, Mass.-based Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Yale New Haven (Conn.) Health opened the Musculoskeletal Care McGivney Advanced Surgery Center in August on its Saint Raphael campus.

Lenoir, N.C.-based Caldwell UNC Health Care and a group of eight surgeons are teaming up to build a $7.1 million orthopedic ASC in Granite Falls.

Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanderbilt University plans to build a pediatric clinic and ASC on a proposed road extension in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

Construction is underway on Oklahoma City-based McBride Orthopedic Hospital's new ASC.

Durango, Colo.-based Animas Surgical Hospital is planning a 73,125-square-foot expansion with an ASC to accommodate rapid growth.

Pardee (N.C.) UNC Health Care is seeking state approval for an ASC in Mills River, N.C.

Glendale-based Ascension Wisconsin plans to begin construction on an 83,000-square-foot medical center with an ASC by the end of the year.

Albany ENT & Allergy Services, St. Peter's Hospital and OrthoNY broke ground on a 54,000-square-foot medical office building and 22,000-square-foot multispecialty ASC in Colonie, N.Y. All three organizations are based in Albany, N.Y.
