Vascular graft market anticipated to increase at 7.3% CAGR to $3.8B by 2022: 4 things to know

The vascular graft market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 7.3 percent to reach $3.8 billion by 2022 from $2.67 billion in 2017, according to a new report by MarketsandMarkets.

Here are four things to know:

1. The vascular graft market is segmented by raw material into ePTFE, polyester, polyurethane and biosynthetic grafts. Polyester grafts were estimated to account for the largest 2017 market share. Polyester-based grafts are designed to be long-lasting with a high patency and porousness.

2. The market is also categorized by indication into endovascular aneurysm repair, including abdominal aortic aneurysm repair and thoracic aneurysm repair, hemodialysis access and peripheral vascular aneurysm. The EVAR segment is estimated to account for the largest market share during the forecast period. Since most aneurysms occur in the abdominal region, the abdominal aneurysm repair subsegment will occupy the largest market.

3. Hospitals are estimated to command the largest market share between 2017 and 2022. The market is bifurcated by end user into hospitals and ASCs.

4. North America will likely command the largest market share in the forecasted period.
