Thomas Jefferson Riverview Surgical Center 1st ASC to Buy Navio Robotic System for Partial Knee Surgery

The Thomas Jefferson Riverview Surgical Center at the Navy Yard in Philadelphia is the first ambulatory surgery center to purchase the Navio robotic-controlled surgical system from Blue Belt Technologies.

The multispecialty surgery center was developed by area physicians, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Nueterra Healthcare. It includes orthopedic surgery, pain management and general surgery.

The technology is designed to assist in precision during partial knee replacement surgery.

Jess Lonner, MD, associate professor of orthopedic surgery at Thomas Jefferson University and attending orthopedic surgeon at Rothman Institute performed the first procedure at the ASC using the Navio system and Blue Belt’s proprietary STRIDE Unicondylar Knee system earlier this month.
