Sapheon, a medical device company that develops new approaches for the treatment of vascular disease, has raised $10 million to commercially launch its VenaSeal Sapheon Closure System in the United States, according to a Triangle Business Journal report.
VenaSeal Sapheon Closure System can be used to treat venous reflux, which causes varicose veins.
Sapheon is awaiting approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its product. In Europe, it has sold 1,700 units, according to the report.
