Orthopedic ASC adopts management platform ahead of expansion — 5 details

With a 13,000-square-foot ASC slated to open in November, The Orthopaedic Surgery Center tapped HSTpathways as its management software provider.

Five takeaways:

1. The Boardman, Ohio-based ASC will deploy HSTpathways' practice management solution and eChart to facilitate decisions about supply lists, physician preference cards, payer contracts and fee schedule updates, administrator Taylor Cera said in a press release.

2. Mr. Cera also said the platform is "easy to use, supports data integration and is known for outstanding customer service."

3. The Orthopaedic Surgery Center opened in January 2015 with the area's first outpatient joint replacement program. Its forthcoming ASC is intended to accommodate increasing demand for outpatient procedures.

4. The practice is independently owned by physicians specializing in sports medicine, shoulder and knee replacement, pain management, and hand, foot and ankle surgery.

5. HSTpathways' 750-plus customers include ASC management companies, freestanding ASCs and ASC-hospital joint ventures.
