Last week, the World Health Organization issued guidelines which implored women residing in countries Zika has impacted to consider delaying pregnancy, according to The Hill.
Here are five things to know:
1. WHO's updated guidelines apply to 46 countries that have declared Zika outbreaks, including the majority of South America and Central America.
2. The updated guidelines mark the first time the organization released Zika recommendations since February.
3. WHO's guidelines are in stark opposition to U.S. health official's Zika stance, with a White House spokesperson saying the government has no intention to issue specific pregnancy guidance as the decision is "intensely personal."
4. Tom Frieden, CDC director, also said the agency does not plan to release Zika pregnancy guidelines.
5. WHO's guidance urges countries to make sure their residents have contraception access, which includes condoms.
