1. The toolkit was developed off of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s Comprehensive Unit-based Safety Program. The program emphasizes improved teamwork, communication and patient safety culture in an attempt to accelerate evidence-based practice implementation.

2. The Comprehensive Unit-based Safety Program has reduced infection and patient harm rates in hospitals and long-term care facilities, to date.

3. The toolkit is tailored to ASCs and reflects facility-specific needs.
