Three key details:
1. Fewer healthcare records were exposed in August than in July. In August, 729,975 records were exposed, and 25,375,729 were exposed in July.
2. The largest breach in August was the one that affected Presbyterian Healthcare Services, where a hacking/IT incident affected the health records of 183,370 individuals.
3. Healthcare data breaches affected organizations in 26 states, including Ohio, California, Oregon, Minnesota, Missouri, New Mexico, Massachusetts and Wisconsin, which each reported two breaches.
