1. Evansville, Ind.-based Talley Medical Surgical Eyecare Associates, which operates the Talley Eye Institute and Valley Surgery Center, was affected by a data breach stemming from unauthorized access and disclosure that 106,000 patients — the second-largest breach in May.

2. The largest data breach in May was the data breach was at Immediata Health Group, affecting 1.5 million patients, the second-largest data breach this year.

3. In total, there were 44 data breaches reported to the HHS’ Office for Civil Rights portal this month.
