Telehealth could be the answer to the physician shortage — 4 insights

Amid a possible 20,000-physician shortage by 2020, telehealth companies are hoping to the fill the physician void, CNBC reports.

1. A survey by Accenture stated 70 percent of consumers are interested in virtual healthcare. However, only 20 percent have tried telehealth.

2. One telehealth company, 98point6, charges only $20 for unlimited visits during a patient's first year.

3. Company CEO and Co-founder Robbie Cape said the telehealth market can cater to patients of any type.

4. The company is currently available in 11 states, but expects to be in all 50 by the year's end.
