Researchers from the United Kingdom have developed a glowing gel that reveals and fights infection-causing bacteria, according to a Huffington Post report.

According to the report, the gel has fluorescent polymers attached to antibiotics, which simultaneously reveal bacteria under ultraviolet light and kill bacteria in just a few hours. Researchers said the glowing gel could help clinicians make quicker and better-informed decisions about wound care while also reducing antibiotic administration.
