Ready to improve patient safety? AHRQ's 2015 ASC program about to get underway

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality's Safety Program for Ambulatory Surgery Cohort 5 enrollment is open through March 30, according to an ASCA report.

The program is designed to improve an ASC's:

• Communication
• Teamwork
• Quality

The program is a 12-month patient safety improvement collaborative. The Health Research and Educational Trust will lead the program along with partners that include ASCA and the ASC Quality Collaboration. Past cohorts report the program improved open discussions about safety and protocol, improve a culture of safety while striving to learn more about data collection and reporting, and create an environment of support and awareness.

There have been 362 facilities enrolled in the course since its inception.
