Patient Safety Tool: Assessment of Medical Device Selections

Jaimie Oh -

The Training for Development of Innovative Control Technologies Project offers a free performance standard for the design, evaluation and selection of medical devices.

The TDICT Project, in conjunction with input from healthcare workers and the HIV Office of the Centers for Disease Control, developed this performance standard for safety and satisfaction when selecting or evaluation a medical device. Major categories that assess medical devices include patient safety/quality of care, user safety, administrative fit and satisfaction and product life cycle.

Download the performance standard for medical device evaluation (ppt) for adaptation and use in your facility.
