Patient Education Tool: AMA 'Weigh What Matters' App

The American Medical Association has released a free app to help patients improve their overall health, according to an AMA news release.

The "Weigh What Matters" app encourages users to consult with their physician to establish personal health goals for three categories: weight, eating and activity. Once these are established, patients can track their weight, physical activity and nutrition with daily entries. Other features include the ability to calculate a user's body mass index and the ability to view progress reports and email them to physicians.

The app is available as part of the AMA Healthier Life Steps program.

The app is available in both the iTunes Store and the Android Marketplace. To learn more about and download the app, click here.
