Norfolk DA partners with CVS in opioid prevention project — 5 notes

Norfolk County, Mass., District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey and CVS are partnering to help bring opioid abuse awareness in an effort to prevent overdoses, according to Weymouth News.

Here are five notes:

1. Norfolk County CVS' will include opioid abuse information in the prescription bag when patients come in to fill out their prescriptions.

2. CVS will also post the information on pharmacy counters countywide.

3. Mr. Morrissey expects the county to fully implement the project this week.

4. Between Jan. 1, 2016, and May 26, 2016, Mr. Morrissey's office responded to 62 fatal opiate overdoses.

5. In 2015, Mr. Morrissey's office responded to 153 opiate overdoses across 27 communities.
