New Jersey Heart and Lung Center Implements New Vaccine Policy for Employees

Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Browns Mills, N.J., has implemented a new influenza vaccination policy to improve infection control, according to a Burlington County Times report.

The facility previously made the flu vaccine available to its employees but did not require them to receive it. Now, leaders have implemented a policy that strongly recommends vaccination. Those who turn down the vaccine must wear a protective mask.

The new policy has yielded a 95 percent vaccination rate among staff, according to the report. Deborah Heart and Lung is the latest healthcare provider to ramp up infection prevention efforts with more robust vaccination policies for employees.
