National Quality Forum to Release Web-Based Tool to Navigate Endorsed Measures

Jaimie Oh -

The National Quality Forum will release a web-based tool for finding and exploring ways to use NQF-endorsed quality measures next week, according to an NQF release.

The Quality Positioning System helps users search for NQF-endorsed measures in a variety of ways, including by measure names, numbers, condition or care setting. Each measure within QPS has a description of the numerator and denominator and any exclusions, plus the name of the measure developer, its endorsement date, whether it has been risk-adjusted and whether eMeasures are available for the measure. Up to three measures can be selected at a time for side-by-side comparison.

Additionally, QPS will allow users to create their own lists of NQF-endorsed measures in customized "portfolios" to fit specific interests or needs, share portfolios with others and view and copy portfolios that others have generated. This function is designed to help users see others' real-world application of measures in public reporting and other programs.

A webinar will be hosted next week to provide an overview and demonstration of QPS.
