The National Patient Safety Foundation's Lucian Leape Institute named Charles Vincent and Amy C. Edmondson, PhD, to its membership.
Here are five key notes:
1. The Lucian Leap Institute serves as a patient safety think tank.
2. Mr. Vincent, a psychology professor at the University of Oxford, wrote Patient Safety and edited Clinical Risk Management.
3. A fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences, Mr. Vincent also served as commissioner on the UK Commission for Health improvement from 1999 to 2003.
4. Dr. Edmondson teaches at Harvard Business School.
5. An author of more than 70 articles regarding leadership and organizational learning, Dr. Edmondson and her co-author won the 2004 Accenture Award for their article on hospital failures.
