Health officials are investigating whether a person who recently visited Yosemite National Park contracted the plague, according to Fox News.
Here are five things to know about the case:
1. A Georgia resident became sick after he visited Yosemite National Park and the Sierra National Forest in early August.
2. If confirmed as the plague, it will be the second case in the area in less than a month. The CDC is testing the patient.
3. In mid-July, a child contracted the plague after visiting Yosemite's Crane Flat Campground.
4. Following the death of two squirrels from the plague, the Tuolumne Meadows Campground was closed so officials could spray flea-killing insecticide in the area.
5. The state Department of Public Health said that the threat to humans is still low.
