Henderson Hospital installs Indigo-Clean OR disinfecting light fixtures in ASC — 4 insights

Henderson (Nev.) Hospital installed the Indigo-Clean continuous environment disinfecting operating room light fixtures in its outpatient surgery center.

Here's what you should know.

1. The health system already had the light system installed in its inpatient and outpatient surgical suites as well as its emergency department patient bays.

2. The light system combats surgical site infections by continuously disinfecting the air as well as soft and hard surfaces through light technology.

3. Bacteria absorb the light, which causes a chemical reaction killing it instantly.

4. When the OR is not in use, the system can be switched to indigo-only mode which provides a higher level of disinfection.

Henderson Hospital CEO Sam Kaufman said, "Indigo-Clean has been a great partner in our fight to maintain a safe, clean environment for our patients. There are many disinfectant technologies available, but we feel Indigo-Clean is the right tool to help keep our patients safe."
