Healthcare providers now subject to review on Yelp: 6 points

Data on hospitals, nursing homes and dialysis clinics is now available on Yelp, according to an article in the Los Angeles Times.

Here are six points:

1. Yelp will upload statistics for 4,600 hospitals, 15,000 nursing homes and 6,300 dialysis clinics in the United States.

2. The company will use ProPublica and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services data. The site will update the information quarterly.

3. For hospitals, information about doctor communication quality will be provided, among other data.

4. For nursing homes, data on the number of beds and fines paid during the last three years will be available, among other information.

5. For dialysis clinics, number of dialysis stations and hospital readmission rates will be provided, among other data.

6. With this implementation and others, Yelp is trying to increase its consumer protection.
