Here are five things to know:

1. The date for submitting web-based data through ASCQR is Sept. 30.

2. The deadline extension applies to claims-based measures submitted through QualityNet and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Healthcare Safety Network.

3. The data submission process takes an extended period of time and the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association recommends beginning to report data as soon as possible despite the deadline extension. It could take two to four weeks to complete registration and enrollment.

4. ASC owners and operators must report through QualityNet as a registered security administrator or basic user; they must be enrolled in NHSN to report data through NHSN.

5. The quality measures submitted through QualityNet include:

ASC-6: Safe Surgery Checklist Use
ASC-7: ASC Facility Volume Data on Selected ASC Surgical Protocol
ASC-9: Endoscopy/Polyp Surveillance: Appropriate follow-up interval for normal colonoscopy in average-risk patients
ASC-10: Endoscopy/Polyp Surveillance: Appropriate follow-up interval for patients with a history of adenomatous polyps

ASC-8: Influenza vaccination coverage among healthcare personnel can be reported through NHSN.
