CarePoint Health receives $350k for patient safety: 4 notes

Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield gave two CarePoint Health hospitals about $350,000 for excellence in patient safety, according to an article on NJ.com.

1. Bayonne Medical Center and Hoboken University Medical Center received the award.

2. Both hospitals exhibited exceptional patient safety and care, earning “A” safety scores in the 2014 Leap Frog Hospital Survey.

3. The survey measures a hospital’s ability to maintain high standards in care quality, patient outcomes, safety and transparency in reporting.

4. The survey looked at national performance, including the areas of hospital services, processes and structures.
