ASCs can appeal quality reporting program’s negative payments until March 17: 3 things to know

CMS announced ASCs looking to appeal negative payments resulting from non-compliance with the ASC quality reporting program can do so by March 17, according to an AHA News Now report.

Here are three things to know:

1. ASCs that do not comply with the ASC quality reporting program will receive a 2 percent point reduction of the annual payment update.

2. CMS noted that around 95.9 percent of eligible ASCs met the criteria to receive a full payment update of negative 0.3 percent for 2016.

3. ASCs looking to appeal the determination must submit a reconsideration request by March 17.
