ASC Spartanburg installs Indigo-Clean OR light system — 4 key notes

Written by Eric Oliver | July 26, 2017 | Print  |

Ambulatory Surgery Center of Spartanburg (S.C.) installed the Indigo-Clean continuous environment disinfecting operating room light fixtures in its two ORs.

Here's what you should know:

1. The ASC is the first freestanding ASC in the state to use the Indigo-Clean system.

2. The light system combats surgical site infections by continuously disinfecting the air and soft and hard surfaces through light technology.

3. Bacteria absorb the light, which causes a chemical reaction killing it instantly.

4. When the OR is not in use, the system can be switched to indigo-only mode which provides a higher level of disinfection.
