91% of health IT leaders note care coordination stands to benefit from data analytics — 5 highlights

Most healthcare IT leaders desire a sole enterprise analytics solution, based on a new Peer60 survey, according to healthcare informatics.

The survey included responses from 200 hospital leaders.

Here are five highlights:

1. The survey found hospitals use the following companies’ EHR systems:

• Cerner: 24 percent (of hospitals)
• Epic: 20 percent
• Meditech: 14 percent
• Allscripts: 11 percent

2. Hospitals use the following companies’ revenue cycle management solutions:

• Epic: 18 percent
• Cerner: 18 percent
• Meditech: 17 percent
• Allscripts: 9 percent
• McKesson: 9 percent

3. Ninety-one percent of respondents noted care coordination as a focus area for data collection. Eighty-nine percent of respondents said managing care requires immense data leverage, as well.

4. Data analytics also enhances resource and risk management as well as boosts patient engagement.

5. Forty-three percent of leaders said they use multiple vendors while 20 percent said they are on the path to an overall enterprise strategy.
