6 Surgical Quality Improvement Lessons

Surgeon leadership is imperative for surgical quality improvement, according to a report from the American College of Surgeons.

The report, "Lessons Learned in the Pursuit of Quality Surgical Health Care," shares common experiences in quality improvement highlighted in a series of ACS-led forums. These forums, part of ACS' Inspiring Quality campaign launched in July 2011, brought together surgeons, hospital leaders, policymakers and other stakeholders to discuss surgical quality and patient safety. The report shares six lessons learned from these forums:
