5 benefits of e-prescriptions

Here are Dr. Hale’s insights:

1. E-prescribing will enhance patient safety and establish a more efficient process.

2. The new process will eliminate miscommunication via phone.

3. It will decrease risk of errors caused by bad handwriting.

4. Patients will not lose prescriptions, and other people will not be able to get a hold of prescriptions.

5. Computer systems will alert providers if a prescribed medication will interact with a patient’s current medications.
