1. Two ASCs were among the largest healthcare data breaches in October, including the Soux Falls, S.D.-based CJ Elmwood Partners Surgery Center, which affected over 40,000 patients, and the Fullerton, Calif.-based National Ambulatory Hernia Institute, which affected 15,974 patients.

2. Collectively, 2,109,730 records were exposed in October.

3. HIPAA-covered entities and their business associates reported 31 healthcare data breaches in October.
