The Ohio Department of Health has "stepped up licensure surveys" according to the Ohio Association for Ambulatory Surgery Centers, and released the top 10 citations for ASCs over the past year.

2. Environment, including humidity, air exchanges per hour and maintaining a sterile environment
3. Drug control and accountability/drug administration
4. Confidentiality and storing patient records
5. Infection control program and infection prevention
6. Nurse duty requirements
7. Governing board duties
8. Medical gasses maintenance, storage and supply
9. Staff performance evaluation
10. Safety and sanitation
