Pittsburgh-based UPMC and national urgent care provider GoHealth Urgent Care have launched 81 UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care centers across Pennsylvania and West Virginia, expanding access to on-demand care through a new joint venture.

The centers — many formerly MedExpress, UPMC Urgent Care and UPMC Express Care sites — treat nonemergency conditions for patients 6 months and older, including flu, sprains and minor injuries. Most major insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid, are accepted, according to a July 30 news release by UPMC.

The partnership combines UPMC’s clinical network with GoHealth’s tech-enabled care model, offering easier access to UPMC specialists and additional services such as primary care, women’s health and radiology in underserved areas.
