The 10 most productive states

New York is the most productive state in the nation, with $120.67 of value added for every hour worked, according to new research from business company Upflip based on the newest labor productivity data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

New York residents worked 14.3 billion hours in 2022, with a value-added output of $1.7 trillion, according to Dec. 12 data sent to Becker’s. 

Here are the 10 most productive states in the U.S.:

2. Washington 

3. Delaware

4. California 

5. Connecticut 

6. Massachusetts

7. Alaska 

8. New Jersey 

9. Illinois

10. North Dakota
