A Providence, R.I. personalized medicine practice has paused operations after all four of its physicians and three administrative staff members departed, leaving hundreds of patients seeking access to care or their medical records, GoLocal Providence reported June 12.
Anasa Personalized Medicine, founded by naturopathic physician Chrysanthi Kazantzis, ND, posted to social media June 2 that all physicians and admin staff were “no longer with Anasa” and that all June appointments would need to be rescheduled. The practice has served more than 6,000 patients over five years.
Dr. Kazantzis is on a personal leave of absence and is expected to return to the practice in the fall, a spokesperson told Becker’s. Anasa has established relationships with qualified naturopathic doctors who are addressing urgent patient needs during this period. The practice is actively scheduling patient appointments for the fall in anticipation of Dr. Kazantzis’s return.
Regarding patient records, the practice says it has been actively communicating with patients — including providing information on how to request records — and that all records requests are being actively processed.
Dr. Kazantzis said: “I remain honored to serve the patients and community I have built this practice around. I am committed to this practice and look forward to returning to my patients in the fall.”
