Ohio requires ASCs to inform patients about palliative care

The Ohio legislature passed a law requiring ASCs to establish ways to identify patients who could benefit from palliative care and inform them about those services.

The law went into effect March 20 for ASCs and other healthcare organizations, including hospitals, nursing homes and residential care facilities.

The law is intended to make the state's palliative care initiatives more effective by ensuring the availability of accurate, comprehensive information.
