Fayetteville, N.C.-based Cumberland County Hospital System has filed a certificate-of-need application to relocate 11 operating rooms from Fayetteville Ambulatory Surgery Center to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, according to a May 14 report by CBS affiliate WNCN.
The proposal was submitted to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, according to state officials. If approved, the $18.3 million project would likely be completed by January 2028.
State officials scheduled a June 16 public hearing for the proposal.
Cape Fear Valley Medical Center is part of Fayetteville-based Cape Fear Valley Health, an eight-hospital system serving southeastern North Carolina.
