El Paso, Texas County commissioners are considering the approval of a $55 million revenue bond for the El Paso County Hospital District’s University Medical Center Surgical Hospital, according to a June 12 report from KFOX14.

The request would add operating rooms at the surgical center, replacing a previous bond request for an ASC in El Paso, according to the report.

In addition to operating rooms, the money would be used to add cath lab augments, endo rooms, 40 beds, an emergency department and a new location for the surgical hospital.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
