The hospital is cutting the services in response to declining patient volumes and decreased financial performance in the wake of the pandemic, according to a March 10 news release from Mountain Health, based in Huntington.

The ASC will close April 28 and the home health services will be phased out over the next 90 days. Surgeries previously performed at the center will be moved to the hospital’s operating rooms, St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington or Three Gables Surgery Center in Proctorville, according to the release.

The hospital is working to transfer affected employees to other open positions.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
