Here are five notes:

1. The LESS Institute, which Kingsley R. Chin, MD, established, is based on the Kaiser Permanente model in which an insurance pool of patients pay a subscriber fee and physicians are compensated from this revenue stream.

2. However, unlike the Kaiser Permanente model, the LESS Institute model is rooted in less invasive outpatient procedures.

3. Dr. Chin established the LESS Institute model in 2008 and has since “invested our own money to grow this model to five locations, from Miami to Orlando. This is all backed with multiple symbiotic companies developing the ecosystem into an outpatient health system,” he said.

4. The new fund aims to help grow this outpatient health system and the LESS Institute model.

5. Dr. Chin is also the CEO of KICVentures, which he founded in 2005.
