Here are three of the ASC’s recent employee engagement activities:

1. The ASC held its second annual pumpkin decorating contest and announced the winners at the beginning of October. Staff, surgeons, patients and visitors voted on Facebook and in person, selecting Rose Kopplin and her headstand pumpkin as the winner. The runners up were a “witches brew” pumpkin and a police officer pumpkin.

2. Effingham Ambulatory Surgery Center hosted “Baseball Rivalry Day” as part of USPI week. Staff members donned either Cardinals or Cubs gear and ate ballpark food for lunch.

3. Surgery center staff celebrated “Pink Day” Oct. 3 in recognition of people battling breast cancer. Staff and physicians at the center collected donations for the nonprofit cancer support organization Fear Nothing.
