The technology is designed for more accurate incisions to reduce astigmatism and need for glasses after cataract surgery. The laser was used for the first time at the center in January.

Hinsdale Surgical Center Administrator Henry DeVries began researching the laser last year and decided to bring in the new technology. The center is affiliated with United Surgical Partners International.
